Tastes from the Heart

The Dallas Association of Young Lawyers’ 2018 Leadership Class is hosting “Tastes from the Heart”, a food and culture private event benefiting Heart House on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at The Women's Museum in Dallas, Texas. This private event will celebrate the countries and the cultures of the children at Heart House.

Heart House is a nonprofit organization that uses education as a catalyst to combat poverty and promote equity for the most vulnerable in our city: immigrant and refugee children. Heart House’s model simultaneously addresses a range of needs including trauma-recovery and social-emotional learning. Operating in the middle of Dallas’ largest and most diverse refugee neighborhoods, Heart House’s core values center on providing culturally relevant services and parent and community-engagement. Every year, Heart House provides free afterschool and summer programming to 240 K-8th grade children, helping them move from chaos to a sense of calm.

In alignment with DAYL values of promoting cultural diversity, the 2018 DAYL Leadership Class could not be more excited to have selected Heart House as its nonprofit partner for this first ever city-wide celebration!
